Google Trends Down, Baidu Up

According this interesting study from "New Competitive Force Adviser" (www.jingzhenli.cn 2006-05-17), there is an interesting phenomena in China's search market.

Google Lab recently produced another new product, called Google Trends which analyzes search query data on keywords and produces a historical trends for the keyword or comparison of keywords.

Here is a trend created when you search Chinese phrase "online marketing" on Google. Since 2003, the volume of search query "online marketing" has continueed to trend down on Google.

However, according to long term study by "New Competitive Force", the traffic of online marketing service providers are steadly going up with more going to Baidu, and less to Google. This trending phenomena indicates the market share of users between the two search engines of Baidu and Google is changing.

According to their website, New Competitive Force is a company located in Shenzhen, China specializing in internet marketing consulting services.
